San Diego California ACLS Renewal and Recertification Classes

August 04, 2012

San Diego is renowned for its air pollution, but interesting findings recently connected to emotional responses to bodily processes have been highlighted in a study conducted by the University of California. The findings of the survey are particularly interesting to people who have their ACLS certification in San Diego or are working in a field where they are required to attend an ACLS course and obtain regular recertification. As heart disease and strokes continue to claim many lives through preventable causes, researchers are pulling out all the stops to assist people to live healthier lives and avoid the need for unnecessary treatment.

One of the latest studies has taken a close look at blood pressure levels and anger, and proven what road rage management specialists have been arguing for decades: being angry can elevate blood pressure. It was documented by the researchers that the group that showed the most anger towards a friend for a misdemeanor once committed were far more likely to suffer high blood pressure when recalling the incident than the group that exhibited forgiveness. The study highlights the connection between body and mind and proves that, while lifestyle factors are important for managing risk of cardiovascular disease, there are also emotional causes at play. It is also important for people who work in an arena where ACLS recertification is required, as it shows that as far as risk factors are concerned, there are a number of traits that should be considered.

In a more conventional study that was carried out in a partnership between the University of California’s Medical School and the San Diego ambulance and fire-rescue departments, researchers have taken a look at ECGs and whether they are as effective as their supporters claim. Prior to the study, conflicting opinions on their effectiveness were in circulation, with skeptics arguing that performing an ECG delayed a patient from getting emergency medical treatment. The results have proven that an ECG can improve the outlook and survival chances for cardiac arrest patients, and that specifically for STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction), patients an ECG made a substantial difference to the treatment process.

Both studies offer valuable insight into research that is conducted into heart and vascular health awareness, and they both offer different and diverse approaches to the subject matter comprised in ACLS classes. For people who need to get their ACLS renewal or ACLS certification, an online program is usually the most efficient way of ensuring that the latest in trends and developments are incorporated into your qualification.
