The economy of Dallas is supported by numerous industries including defense, technology, biotechnology, semiconductors, telecommunications, and information technology. 43 percent of Texas’s high tech workers are employed in Dallas. The city is also home to 15 billionaires.
There are 12 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the city including Dean Foods, AT&T, Blockbuster Inc. , Tenet Healthcare, Southwest Airlines, and others.
