The combined statistical area of Los Angeles has a gross metropolitan product of $831 billion which ranks it as the third largest metropolitan economy in the world. Hollywood is a major component of the Los Angeles economy as the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” and it is a leading producer of movie, television, and music entertainment.
