Virginia Beach is located in the metropolitan area of Virginia. It is one of the fastest growing cities on the East Coast of the United States. It is situated at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay on the Atlantic Ocean. It has an estimated population of 440,415 (2008). It is one of the Seven Cities of the Hampton Roads. It is the first park in the world to be created from a landfill. The park has two lakes: Lake Windsor and Lake Trashmore. The Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge has sand dunes, forests, water marshes and is over 8,000 acres. First Landing State Park and False Cape State Park are located within the city and are excellent camping locations with every amenity for camping available.

Virginia Beach is has some sporting events as well such as the East Coast Surfing Championships and the North American Sand Soccer Championship which is a beach soccer tournament. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as having the longest pleasure beach in the world. Because of Virginia Beach’s moderate taxes, several job opportunities, and excellent climate the city is growing quickly in population.
